PORTSMOUTH – A nuclear-powered ballistic-missile submarine has arrived at Norfolk Naval Shipyard to undergo a midlife refueling, receive technological upgrades, and get new berthing spaces for enlisted women, according to the Navy.
The USS Wyoming is one of 14 aging Ohio-class submarines that can fire nuclear weapons, serving as an important part of the nation’s nuclear triad along with ground-based missiles and strategic aerial bombers.
